May-June 2008 Photos

On May 3 and 4, Sharon visited Denver. We did a bunch of fun things on Saturday the 3rd: went for a drive in the mountains, and went to dinner and a ball game with the Mezas. On Sunday she went to church with me.

Saturday, May 3

We stopped by the temple on our way up to the mountains, and a kind soul, not a member of the Church, saw we had a camera, so he stopped and offered to take our picture.

Evergreen Lake

We stopped in picturesque Evergreen, Colorado. Here we are at Evergreen Lake. We hiked the one or two miles around the lake.

Lookout Mountain

From the top of Lookout Mountain there's this spectacular view of Denver in the distance.

Buffalo Bill's Grave

Buffalo Bill is buried right at the top of Lookout Mountain, and there is a museum there.

At the ballgame

In the evening we went to dinner with the Mezas and then to a Rockies game. From left to right: Sharon, Dave, Josť Meza, and Iris Meza.

The Rockies Game

The Rockies were playing the Dodgers and lost, 7-12. But it was an exciting game with several home runs.

Todd Helton

Here's a closeup with my telephoto lens of Todd Helton, the Rockies' All Star first baseman. In this at-bat he flied out to right field.

At Church

Sunday, Sharon came to church with me. I really like this photo of us together. Keith Handy took it.

The Handys

My good friends, Keith and Carma Handy.

The Browns

I know the Browns, but not really well. This photo was taken for posting on the ward web site. From left to right: Carly, Scott, Anita, Garry, and Mandy. Mandy was the proxy, baptized for my Aunt Margaret and Aunt Elizabeth. The night of the temple trip, she had a dream that let me know to do the work for Aunt Margaret's husband, Willard, too. And then in early May, I baptized Scott for others of my relatives on another youth temple trip.
